The giants of the beauty industry are still wearing the Emperor's New Clothes. Every year, 120 billion plastic or glass packaging containers are produced globally—yet more than 90% of them are no longer accepted by recycling facilities.
Can we pursue beauty without causing nature to age prematurely? "Fencun" was born out of this crisis—a beauty community defined by its keen observation of, and reverence for, the environment; a community that seeks balance and embodies a "new kind of beauty."
We strive to reduce our ecological footprint, beginning by utilizing the most commonplace fruits and vegetables to replace scarce herbs and exotic blooms. These ingredients—tomatoes, citrus fruits, rice, and more—hail from a 2,000-year-old Chinese heritage, yet were previously overlooked by consumers simply because their pale appearance failed to catch the eye. In truth, we need not encroach upon arable land designated for food production to create exquisite products that leave the skin radiant and supple.
The future of beauty may well be a breath of fresh air—a future that belongs to "Fencun," where the love of beauty and the harmony of nature coexist.
